The Blight is a powerful killer in Dead by Daylight, despite appearing average in height and speed stats. His unique ability allows him to bounce off surfaces like a pinball, which makes him very effective in chasing and gives him a lot of mobility. However, mastering his playstyle requires time and practice, especially for new players. It can be challenging to switch to other, slower killers afterward. With the right perks, though, he becomes even more dangerous. Let’s explore the best Blight builds to make the most out of his abilities.
Best Blight Build 2024

When it comes to the Blight, any good perk can make him shine due to his unbelievably strong nature. As your primary focus should be on information and slow-down perks, here is a recommended Blight build.
- Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis) – At the start of the trial, you are shown the auras of all Survivors for 9 seconds. Every time a Survivor’s aura appears for a while, its duration is increased by 2 seconds.
- Barbecue & Chilli (The Cannibal) – After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors’ auras are revealed to you for 5 seconds when they are more than 40 meters away from the hook.
- Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown) – After hooking a Survivor, the next generator you damage immediately loses 30% of its current progress. Normal generator regression happens following the Damage Generator action. Pop Goes the Weasel remains active for 45 seconds after the Survivor is hooked.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – At the beginning of the trial, up to 4 random hooks are converted into scourge hooks. You can see their auras in white. You start the trial with 4 tokens. The first time each Survivor is hooked on a scourge hook, you lose 1 token, and the generator with the most progress explodes, losing 25% of their progress and starting to regress.
All-Purpose Blight Build

This Blight build is highly versatile and ideal for a secure, passive approach. It provides exceptional reliability and adaptability by effectively blocking generators and gathering valuable information as they near completion.
- Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – The Entity blocks the three generators furthest from you for 120 seconds at the start of the trial.
- Deadlock (The Cenobite) – After repairing a generator, The Entity disables the generator with the most progress for 30 seconds. You can see its white aura at this time.
- Tinkerer (The Hillbilly) – When a generator is repaired to 70% progress, you will receive a loud noise notification and the Undetectable status effect for the next 16 seconds. This effect can only be activated once on each generator. The Killer’s aura, Terror Radius, and Red Stain stay undetectable.
- No Way Out (The Trickster) – After successfully hooking a Survivor for the first time, you will receive a token for No Way Out. This perk is activated once the exit gates are powered on. When a Survivor interacts with an exit gate switch, you will get a loud noise notification. The Entity will then block both exit gate switches for 12 seconds. However, if you have collected tokens, each token will add an extra 12 seconds to the disable time.
Simple Tracking Blight Build

You might want to consider an alternative Blight build that has an even more passive approach. This setup is perfect for those who prefer simplicity. It focuses on generator regression and survivor tracking, ensuring the survivors are consistently under pressure.
- Hex: Ruin (The Hag) – Hex: Ruin affects all generators. When a generator is not repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress repair progress at 100% of the normal regression rate. When a Survivor is killed by any means, the Hex: Ruin Totem converts into a Dull Totem. The Hex effects last as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – At the beginning of the trial, up to 4 random hooks are converted into scourge hooks. You can see their aura revealed in white. You start the trial with 4 tokens. The first time each hooked survivor gets put on a scourge hook, you lose 1 token, and the generator with the most progress explodes, losing 25% of their progress and starting to regress.
- Mindbreaker (The Demogorgon) – Survivors suffer from blindness and exhaustion while repairing generators. While the Survivor is repairing a generator, all existing Exhausted status effect timers are paused. After completing the repair action, the Survivor suffers from the Blindness and Exhausted status effects for 5 seconds.
- Surveillance (The Pig) – Any regressing generator will reveal with a white aura. If the regression on a generator is interrupted, it will be highlighted in yellow for 16 seconds.
