The Cenobite, also known as The Pinhead, specializes in inflicting suffering across the entire map. Survivors must find the Lament Configuration. If they fail, they will face a Chain Hunt. The Chain Hunt will cripple their movement. It will unleash a never-ending barrage of chains upon them. The Cenobite can also summon a chain to bind Survivors, allowing him to gain control and inflict punishment.
To make the most out of him, let’s go over the best builds for the Cenobite in Dead by Daylight.
Best Cenobite Build 2024

This build offers early game information. It also provides healing slowdown and generator regression. These features make it a solid choice for maintaining pressure throughout the match.
- Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis): Reveals survivor auras at the start of the match, making it easier to locate the Lament Configuration. This allows you to predict where the box will be and either pick it up early or keep an eye on it to disrupt survivors.
- Sloppy Butcher (General Perk): Increases healing time and synergizes well with chain hunts. When survivors are harassed by chains, healing becomes nearly impossible, maintaining constant pressure.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist): Causes generators to explode and regress when a survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, adding generator slowdown.
- Dead Man’s Switch (The Deathslinger): Blocks generators that survivors stop working on after a survivor is hooked, synergizing with Pain Resonance to disrupt survivor progress.
Hex Cenobite Build

This build focuses on hex perks to create mid-game slowdown. This helps in creating confusion among survivors. By extending the match’s duration, you can maximize the benefits of my perks.
- Hex: Ruin (The Hag): Provides continuous regression of generators as long as it remains active, slowing down survivor progress significantly.
- Hex: Plaything (The Cenobite): Causes survivors to be oblivious until they cleanse their totem, creating confusion and making it harder for them to locate you.
- Hex: Pentimento (The Artist): Revives cleansed totems, further slowing the game down by increasing generator repair and healing times.
- Sloppy Butcher (General Perk): Increases healing time and synergizes with the chain hunts, making healing a difficult task for survivors.
End Game Cenobite Build

This build prioritizes endgame perks. It enables you to manage the late stages of the match. Securing kills can still be achieved when generators are completed.
- Barbecue & Chili (Barbecue & Chilli): Provides aura reading after hooking a survivor, giving you valuable information about survivor locations.
- Deadlock (The Cenobite): Blocks the generator with the most progress for a short duration after a generator is completed, slowing down their progress.
- No Way Out (The Trickster): Extends the time required to open exit gates, giving you more time to secure kills in the endgame.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk): Activates once the exit gates are powered, providing a speed boost and the ability to down survivors in one hit, making you a formidable force in the endgame.
Best Cenobite Add-ons
- Larry’s Remains – Increases the time a Survivor has to solve the box by 2 seconds. The effect may appear insignificant, but it is critical. The longer duration allows you to consistently interrupt Survivors who are solving the box, even if they are far away, by using a long-distance Possessed Chain.
- Impaling Wire – Normally, breaking a Possessed Chain in the environment causes another chain to spawn and attempt to attack. Instead, this add-on creates two additional chains.
- Iridescent Lament Configuration – Hides the aura of the box from anyone who isn’t nearby until the Chaint Hunt starts. Survivors typically see the aura of the box at all times and can easily locate it. If they want to solve it quickly with this add-on, they’ll have to move around the map and search for it.
- Greasy Black Lens – A Survivor’s aura is revealed after being hit with a Possessed Chain. This effect is extremely useful in almost every situation, provided the Survivor does not have a perk that hides their aura.
- Liquified Gore – Increases a Survivor’s time to solve the box by one second. The effect may appear insignificant, but it is critical. The longer duration allows you to consistently interrupt Survivors who are solving the box, even if they are far away, by using a long-distance Possessed Chain.
