So many of the most OP champions in Season 14 scale incredibly well and become unbeatable if games go late. The win rates on some of these champions in games lasting over 30 minutes are absolutely insane. In today’s post, we’re featuring the League of Legends 10 best late-game champions for Season 14 that you can look to stomp solo queue with.
Ornn

Ornn has an absolutely ridiculous stat line when it comes to win rate based on game length. In games that last under 30 minutes, Ornn is only winning 47% of the time, but if you’re able to make it past that 30-minute mark, his win rate spikes to 53%.
A big reason for this is Ornn’s ability to upgrade items. Once Ornn hits level 13, he’s able to upgrade his own item. For each level from 14 to 17, he can then upgrade one of his teammate’s items. The longer games last, the more stats Ornn is able to provide for his team, giving his team a much greater chance of winning.
Ornn’s passive also increases his bonus armor, bonus magic resist, and bonus health by 10% from all sources for each item he upgrades, making him extremely tanky as games drag out and very difficult to kill. His team fight is also some of the best for any top lane champ, giving him incredible impact in the final late game fights.
Kayle

Kayle has a very similar trajectory as Ornn when it comes to win rate based on game length but to an even more insane degree. In games that end before 25 minutes, Kayle players are only winning 46% of the time.
However, if you manage to scale up and get past the 30-minute mark, Kayle’s win rate skyrockets to 56%. It gets even more disgusting the longer the game goes, with Kayle players winning 61% of the time in games over 40 minutes.
Kayle’s passive is the driving factor for her late game dominance. When you reach level 16 with Kayle, you gain a 100 bonus range on your autos and permanent stats from her Zealous passive. A well-timed Kayle ultimate in the late game can negate a fed dive champion’s damage completely, making her a massive tool for late game fights. Kayle also scales insanely well with items, making her DPS output very reliable.
Evelynn

Evelynn is one of the highest win-rate junglers in games that last over 30 minutes, sitting at 54%. Unlike Kayle and Ornn, Evelynn doesn’t have a crazy scaling mechanic in her kit.
The reason behind Evelynn’s late game success is her stealth and ability to find catch plays, which heavily sway solo queue games. With Rabadon’s Deathcap completed, Evelynn can easily one-shot squishy targets. Her ability to find these assassinations in creative ways makes her late game impact very high.
Evelynn also has some of the best objective-securing potential for any jungler due to her execute damage from her ultimate, making securing a late game Baron or Elder Dragon much easier.
Master Yi

Master Yi is winning over 53% of the time in games that last over 30 minutes. A key element of Yi’s kit that makes his late game powerful is the true damage from his E.
True damage scales well since it ignores resistances, making it a very OP stat in the later game. Master Yi is an item-reliant champion, given that his core items are typically tank shredders. The build typically also allows Yi to run down squishy targets and auto-attack them to death, giving him consistent impact in the later game.
Kassadin

Kassadin is the absolute god of the late-game champions for mid-lane, winning 56% of the time in games that last over 30 minutes. Level 16 Kassadin with a few items is one of the most unbeatable champions in the game. His constant mobility and burst damage allow him to solo-win games.
Kassadin’s ultimate cooldown drops to below 2 seconds at level 16, and his burst damage is very reliable. With the shield from Seraph’s Embrace, Kassadin becomes hard to take down before he can kill someone and ult right out.
Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol is winning over 55% of the time in games that last over 30 minutes. His win rate in games that last under 25 minutes is only 45%, showing a 10% spread. This is because of Aurelion Sol’s passive, which stacks over time and increases his power.
Aurelion Sol’s Q is very easy to use, guaranteeing insane damage once you get a few items and passive stacks. His ultimate, combined with his E, provides incredible AOE damage and zone control, making him a dominant force in late game team fights.
Smolder

The newest champion in League of Legends is one of the most broken late game champs we’ve ever seen, and cracking the top 10 is Smolder.
As long as you can get the game past 25 minutes, Smolder has an absolutely absurd win rate right now. It’s just those games that are under 25 minutes where Smolder struggles a bit more, which is an understandable trade-off. Where it really becomes nuts is if you can reach 30 minutes plus, as Smolder players are winning upwards of 55%.
Smolder becomes a monstrous late-game pick due to his passive ability. When he hits an enemy with an ability or his Q kills a minion or monster, he gains Dragon Practice stacks. These stacks increase the power of his abilities, and at 225 stacks, he gains bonus max health true damage on his Q. Additionally, his execute on his Q scales with Dragon Practice stacks, making him an insane late-game champion.
Vayne

One of the best late game champions for years now and still in the top 10 for season 14 is Vayne. Although not as crazy as Smolder, Vayne is in that top percentile win rate-wise in games that last over 30 minutes as she’s winning 53% of the time.
With Vayne, there are a few factors that give her the edge on most ADCs when it comes down to later game situations. The first is that Vayne is a more self-sufficient ADC in the sense that she has ways to peel off dive champions with her Condemn from E and then can kite away with the mobility from Q.
As you reach the later stages of the game on ADC, everyone is going to be hard focusing you in fights, so having the self-peel that Vayne possesses gives her a more reliable late game impact. Of course, the true damage coming out of Vayne’s W is another big factor in her late game dominance.
Yuumi

Yuumi has an insane stat line when comparing early game versus late game success. Her win rate is 42% in games under 25 minutes, but it spikes to 53% in games over 30 minutes.
Yuumi’s early game impact is non-existent, but in the late game, she becomes oppressive by buffing up her teammates. If the game lasts long enough, Yuumi’s team will have enough items for someone to carry the game, making her a powerful late game support.
Senna

Senna wins around 49% of games that last less than 25 minutes, but her win rate rises to 53% in games over 30 minutes.
Senna’s passive allows her to gain bonus AD, range, and crit chance from collecting Mist Wraiths, which continue to spawn throughout the game. The longer the game lasts, the more stats Senna acquires, making her very strong in the late game. Her ability to deal damage from a safe range makes her one of the best scaling supports.
TL;DR
In conclusion, the key takeaways from the text is that many champions in Season 14 of League of Legends are insane in the late game, with win rates spiking significantly after the 30-minute mark. Champions like Ornn, Kayle, Evelynn, Master Yi, Kassadin, Aurelion Sol, Smolder, Vayne, Yuumi, and Senna showcase exceptional late-game potential due to their scaling abilities and impact in extended matches.
