Staying ahead of the curve with optimized survivor builds can distinguish between a dangerous chase and an ambitious escape. Drawing on the expertise of respected Dead by Daylight content creator Otzdarva, we look at the most recent best solo queue builds for 2024 based on his video.
Best Solo Queue Build 2024

Otzdarva describes this build as a solo queue all-purpose build. With Windows of Opportunity, players can avoid worrying about teammates using resources without their knowledge.
Kindred is recommended to prevent being left on the hook and always to know what to do in hook situations. The combination of Lithe and Decisive Strike is commonly used in competitive Dead by Daylight and is not hard to pull off.
- Windows of Opportunity (Kate Denson): Otzdarva views Windows of Opportunity to be an essential perk for solo queue builds. He describes it as “foolproof” and emphasizes its value at all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Windows of Opportunity shows its advantages in delivering information about pallets, breakable walls, and vault locations within a 32-meter radius. He claims that this perk avoids the need to worry about teammates utilizing resources and going to dead-end spots since you know where the pallets are still up.
- Lithe (Feng Min): Activates after performing a rushed vault, giving the survivor a 150% increase in running speed for up to 3 seconds. However, this action imposes the Exhausted status effect for 40 seconds. Otzdarva mentions that in competitive play, Lithe is often paired with Decisive Strike. Players use Decisive Strike and then immediately use Lithe to gain massive distance from the killer.
- Decisive Strike (Laurie Strode): Decisive Strike is an important insurance policy against tunnel killers. While the strategy of using it in conjunction with Dead Hard might seem appealing, it’s not always necessary. Sometimes, killers might choose to wait out the 60-second activation window, especially if they’re aware of survivors’ perks. Decisive Strike allows survivors to automatically escape the Killer’s grasp by succeeding in a Skill Check, stunning the Killer for 3 seconds in the process.
- Kindred (General Perk): Kindred provides great aura information for survivors during hook situations, revealing survivor auras to all survivors while one is on the hook. It also reveals the killer’s aura to all survivors if within a 16-meter range. When another survivor is hooked, their aura is revealed to the player, along with the killer’s aura if within range. However, Otzdarva suggests that players who are skilled at interpreting HUDs and making quick decisions might prefer perks such as Adrenaline or Unbreakable.
Alternative Solo Queue Build

We’ve made a few changes to the build in this solo queue variation.
Instead of Windows of Opportunity, we’ve chosen Adrenaline, which can have a stronger impact, but at the expense of missing out on information.
Furthermore, Kindred has been replaced with No One Left Behind, which may not provide information throughout the match but is extremely valuable in the latter game.
Finally, Lithe has been replaced with Dead Hard, which requires a little more skill.
- Dead Hard (David King): Dead Hard allows survivors to tap into their adrenaline reserves when injured, granting a brief period of invulnerability while dashing forward. It activates after being rescued from a hook or self-unhooking and causes exhaustion for 40 seconds. Otzdarva sees Dead Hard as great for long chases, particularly when expecting tunnelling from the killer. He mentions its good synergy when paired with Decisive Strike.

Decisive Strike allows survivors to automatically escape the Killer’s grasp by succeeding in a Skill Check, stunning the Killer for 3 seconds in the process.
- Adrenaline (Meg Thomas): Adrenaline instantly heals one health state and boosts running speed by 150% for 5 seconds upon the activation of exit gates. If disabled at the moment it should take effect, Adrenaline is held and activates upon liberation. It also serves as a beneficial substitute for perks like Windows of Opportunity or Kindred.
- No One Left Behind (General Perk): Becomes active when exit gates are powered, facilitating teamwork by boosting healing and unhooking speed by 50% and granting a 7% movement speed increase for 10 seconds to unhooked survivors. It also reveals all survivors’ auras to the player. Otzdarva finds it especially handy in endgame scenarios, despite its limitations in only providing benefits during this phase.
